Comment-

I just now realize that my annoyance about a lack of sensitivity to my nursing of my toddler is directed at a group of women whose profession is "to nurse."  Any irony there?

Isn't it amazing how biased our society is? Especially "helpful" healthcare providers who really just want to validate their own only slightly educated opinions (I can say this, since I am, afterall a nurse). I find it so amazing how supportive some people are if you are breastfeeding your newborn, but not your infant, or your toddler. People are more than willing to help you find a comfortable place to nurse your newborn, but not your infant, and certainly not your toddler....I enjoyed the rant! and keep up the great work. I believe the Academy of Pediatrics has now joined the long list recommending breastfeeding until age 2 or further as mutually determined by the child and mother.
